Guest Relations Manager

Job Description

As a Guest Relations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Front Office functions, including Reception, Concierge, Communications and the Club Lounge. You will act as the key contact for any guest issues or hotel emergencies in the absence of senior management team members. Your role will involve handling all guest complaints and feedback in a professional manner, with a particular focus on Japanese-speaking guests.

Key responsibilities include joint sales calls with the Sales Team to Japanese companies, ensuring that all reception and cashiering procedures are performed in accordance with established standards and procedures. You will also provide leadership and support to the team through guidance and training, leading by example and fostering a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, accountability and excellence.

You will attend daily internal operations meetings and review guest preferences and feedback to the Management. Additionally, you will keep abreast of market practices and recommend new suitable work processes for better efficiency and productivity.

The successful candidate will drive and promote Front Office goals and initiatives such as Upselling goals and Trip Advisor rankings. They will develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members.

Responsibilities may also include participating in recruitment and onboarding processes for new staff members, assisting with budgeting and financial reporting, and conducting regular checks to ensure service standards of Front Office staff are in compliance with Hotel's stipulated standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • At least 2 years of hospitality experience
  • Diploma in Hotel Management and/or Diploma in Tourism Studies preferred
  • Excellent knowledge on Opera system
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Basic foundation of F&B service operations knowledge preferred
  • Able to work on weekends/public holidays and 3 rotating shifts
  • Business level in Japanese to handle Japanese speaking guests from Japan
