Job Description

The ideal candidate will lead global trade compliance initiatives in the APAC region, ensuring seamless adherence to laws and regulations for export and import activities.

This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive trade compliance programs, managing customs and government agency relationships, overseeing import/export applications, registrations, and Customs rulings, and providing subject matter expertise on current import and export regulations and requirements.

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong analytical and organizational skillset, with the ability to anticipate problems and take proactive actions. Additionally, experience in developing and implementing trade compliance programs is highly desirable.

  • Primary Function of Position: Lead global trade compliance in the APAC region, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations for export and import activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of international trade experience, including managerial or senior roles in APAC: Proven track record of leading trade compliance initiatives and developing strategic plans to drive business growth.
  • Extensive knowledge of global trade compliance regulations, including import/export laws and customs regulations: Strong understanding of international trade regulations and laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing trade compliance programs: Ability to develop and implement effective trade compliance programs that meet regulatory requirements and drive business success.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with ability to anticipate problems and take proactive actions: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive trade compliance programs: Design and implement trade compliance programs that meet regulatory requirements and drive business success.
  2. Manage customs and government agency relationships: Build and maintain relationships with customs and government agencies to ensure seamless compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Oversight of import/export applications, registrations, and Customs rulings: Ensure accurate and timely completion of import/export applications, registrations, and Customs rulings.
  4. Provide subject matter expertise on current import and export regulations and requirements: Stay up-to-date on the latest import and export regulations and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
  5. Evaluate risks to guide decisions and propose solutions: Analyze potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  6. Conduct internal reviews and audits to measure compliance and identify potential risks: Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify potential risks.
