We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing goal-oriented treatment plans for our students, facilitating skill development, motivation, and interest.
You will work collaboratively with the Head of Therapy to deliver effective, high-quality interventions that are data-driven.
You will use discipline-specific skills to provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.
- Provide professional leadership of the Occupational Therapy discipline with the Head of Therapy to ensure provision and development of efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services.
- Hold responsibility for Occupational Therapy programmes as part of the Department's Occupational Therapy service delivery, including programme planning timelines, and administration.
- Support the Head of Therapy to develop, implement, and maintain Occupational Therapy services including peer consultation, referral delegation of clients, clinical policies, and guidelines reflecting evidence-based practice and within regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct regular documentation audits concerning everything related to Occupational Therapy to ensure record keeping meets AHPC regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and manage the safety standards of the gyms through continual observation of possible health and safety hazards through repair, maintenance, and cleanliness of the gyms and all equipment by observing AHPC required standards.
- Report to the Head of Therapy any issues, defects, repairs, or maintenance needed in the gyms and for equipment immediately both verbally and in writing, copying the relevant authorities.
- Facilitate monthly Occupational Therapy meetings with the purpose of providing peer supervision, case discussion, discuss student goals and plans, communication, and problem-solving of Occupational Therapy specific matters, organizing/providing internal CPD.
- Assist the Head of Therapy for annual appraisals of Occupational Therapists.
- Understand the rules of other professionals and agencies who work in partnership with the Therapy Department, such as MOH, MOE, AHPC, EduTrust, CPE, and private professional organizations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individualized education plans and intervention plans to achieve specific short-term and long-term goals.
- Document, supervise, and provide general guidance to OT Interns.
- Develop and implement targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.
- Collaborate with the respective Heads of School to ensure understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs through evaluation, educational program planning, and delivery.
- Manage the OT student waiting list in liaison with the Head of Therapy.
- Implement and maintain supervision in line with the AHPC Singapore Supervisory framework and keep up-to-date with AHPC's mandatory legislation.
- Provide education and training to others including awareness talks, in-service training, workshops, and stay current with current ethical practice and current diagnostic criteria.
- Create and manage inventories of all OT resources including assessment kits.
- Acknowledge and adhere to all policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and Code of Conduct of the Department and School including those stipulated in the Operations Manual of the Department and the Operations Manual of the School.
- Assist with interviews for all Occupational Therapists as required.
- Assist the Head of Therapy in the orientation of new Occupational Therapists.
- Perform as a full-time and engaged member of the staff, including attendance to weekly teacher-staff meetings, accompanying students on field trips, assisting with student recruitment and enrichment activities, and working with other staff members to ensure fulfillment of the school's mission.
- Demonstrate commitment to developing and contributing to a community of educators.
- Be proactive in finding solutions and working in a team reflecting a healthy and positive growth mindset always.
The ideal candidate must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with a recognized Board of Occupational Therapists.
Minimum of five years of relevant working experience is preferred.
Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the Head of Therapy, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Prior experience in a school setting is an advantage.
