Customer Due Diligence Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Due Diligence Manager to join our team at GXS. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day CDD activities and providing guidance to the team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and be responsible for the smooth and timely execution of CDD activities
  • Stay updated on changes in AML, CFT and Sanctions laws and regulations
  • Develop and iterate CDD procedures and processes to ensure relevance, design effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Lead and groom a team of high-performing CDD specialists
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, and technology teams, to continuously innovate and enhance AML, CFT and Sanctions controls
  • Be the subject matter expert who can be counted upon to anticipate and identify problems, provide actionable ideas and promote a culture of compliance within the organization
  • Support the preparation of management responses to audit and regulatory inquiries

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of proven track record in executing the end-to-end CDD journeys for retail and SME segments
  • At least 3 years of people management experience
  • In-depth understanding of MAS regulations on AML/CFT/Sanctions and familiar with ACIP and industry developments in digital initiatives
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders of all levels
  • Good team leadership and management skills; and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in the pursuit of common goals
  • Problem-solving, positive and constructive attitude is a must
  • Hardworking, ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup VUCA environment

Good to Have:

  • Screening and Watchlist Management experience will be highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with various commercial intelligence database and screening systems (e.g Questnet / World Check etc)
  • Certification as an AML specialist (e.g CAMS / Diploma in AML) with a recognized institution will be an advantage
