Job Title: ED / SVP, Regional Head, Credit Risk Quality Assurance, Risk Management Group

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Credit Risk Quality Assurance function, ensuring the bank's risk exposure is effectively managed. As a key member of the Risk Management Group, you will work closely with business partners to identify and mitigate risks, while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust Credit Risk Quality Assurance strategy, driving continuous improvement and best practices across the organization.
  • Assess the quality of credit risk management processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted solutions.
  • Evaluate origination, underwriting, monitoring, and risk rating integrity, ensuring compliance with credit risk policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with first and second lines of defense teams to formulate and agree on time-bound resolution plans, incorporating findings into training programs.
  • Identify emerging risks and gaps in the credit risk management process, driving proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a change agent, coaching teams in areas with noted deficiencies and sharing best practices.
  • Enhance management information reporting, incorporating new risk and control monitoring metrics to provide insights and trends.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of financial services experience, including credit experience in corporate, commercial, or retail banking.
  • Experience with credit products across multiple asset classes and within large banks.
  • Fully conversant in credit policy matters with proven sound judgment.
  • Relevant experience/knowledge in a similar role is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence without direct authority.
  • Motivated, self-driven, and taking a hands-on approach.
