Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal control framework that aligns with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identify and assess potential risks that could impact the company's operations, financial reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations, providing strategic recommendations for mitigation.
  • Create and update internal policies and procedures to ensure they are effective in managing risks and supporting business objectives, fostering a culture of compliance and governance.
  • Oversee compliance with internal control policies and external regulations, ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws and standards, and providing regular updates to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and lead internal audits, providing them with the necessary information to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop training programs to increase regional understanding of internal controls and their role in maintaining them, promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.
  • Prepare reports on the effectiveness of internal controls and document any issues or recommendations for improvement, providing actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Lead projects to implement new controls or improve existing ones, often involving cross-functional teams, and ensure that IT systems support internal control objectives and are secure from unauthorized access and data breaches.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA or ACCA preferred, demonstrating expertise in financial governance and assurance.
  • Experience: 3 year+ experience in internal control, finance, or auditing, with a strong understanding of risk management, US GAAP, and SOX controls.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and internal control frameworks such as COSO, SOX, or local regulatory standards, ensuring compliance and governance.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics, upholding the highest standards of conduct and behavior.
  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of IT systems and the ability to assess and manage risks associated with technology, ensuring the security and integrity of financial data.
  • Salary: S$9,000 - S$11,000 a month, reflecting the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent in the field of financial governance and assurance.
