About the RoleA skilled Construction Cost Estimator is required to forecast total capital requirements and monitor expenditure during construction. Key responsibilities include performing quantity take-off, handling progress claims, variation orders, project costing, and contract matters.
Key Accountabilities- Sourcing suppliers and subcontractors quotations
- Tabulating price comparisons and costing summaries
- Preparing interim valuations, pricing, and agreement of contract variations
- Submitting regular and up-to-date claim submissions and follow-ups
- Assisting in monthly cost and value reports
- Quantity take-off
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or client
- Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work
- Assisting in establishing clients' requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
- Performing risk and value management and cost control
- Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks
- Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Degree or diploma in building/quantity surveying/civil engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in construction
- Resourceful and able to maintain good relationships with clients and subcontractors
- Meticulous, independent, highly motivated, and results-oriented
- A good team player, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
