System Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced System Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the availability and performance of our critical IT infrastructure.

The role involves providing Level 2 support for Unix/Linux servers and related systems, analyzing and responding to alerts in a 24x7 Command Centre environment, and ensuring timely resolution of issues to maintain system uptime and service levels.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems and troubleshooting, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unix/Linux Server Support: Provide Level 2 support for Unix/Linux servers and related systems.
  • Alert Response: Monitor, analyze, and respond to alerts in a 24x7 Command Centre environment.
  • Incident Management: Perform incident management, root cause analysis, and escalation when required.
  • Uptime and Service Levels: Ensure timely resolution of issues to maintain system uptime and service levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of IT experience: With at least 1 year in a Command Centre Engineer role.
  • Certification: CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification: Required.
  • Unix/Linux Knowledge: Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems and troubleshooting.
  • Availability: Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift-based environment.
