About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Underwriter to join our team at AXA XL. As a Cyber Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting business within the agreed business plan and individual authority, supporting the business planning and forecasting process, and monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing submissions, including applications, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports, to determine the degree of risk for each account
  • Calculating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the relevant sector, reinsurance cessions, and underwriting and general administration costs
  • Proactively advising, assisting, servicing, and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance requirements
  • Effective relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross-selling offered products and ensuring account retention
  • Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards
  • Determining appropriate reinsurance for risk placements both on excess of loss and quota share basis
  • Maintaining awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience, policy development, and broker management
  • Sound technical knowledge and skills, including product and industry
  • Ability to work independently and respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation
  • Marketing skills, including planning for sales and business development, and integrating the use of various techniques, tools, and information to support profitable business growth
  • Negotiation and sales skills, including planning, structuring, and conducting negotiations with brokers and/or clients to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties
  • Interpersonal savvy, including building excellent interpersonal relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues
  • Industry knowledge, including understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios
  • Analytical skills, including visualizing, gathering information, articulating, analyzing, and solving complex problems to make key business decisions
