About the Department
The Group Technology and Operations (GTO) division is responsible for delivering software and system development, IT support services, and banking operations. By centralizing and standardizing technology components in Singapore, we have established a global framework that supports our regional subsidiaries and international branches. Our operations span 19 countries, ensuring a secure and adaptable banking infrastructure. The Operations divisions focus on providing transactional customer services while enhancing cost efficiency through process improvements and automation.
Key Responsibilities
This position will oversee the platform engineering aspects of the Data Analytics domain, which encompasses Big Data engineering, Data Integration, Data Quality, Analytics, and the development and operationalization of machine learning models.
- Collaborate with technology partners to design and implement solutions that align with business requirements and capability roadmaps.
- Develop standardized frameworks, playbooks, and practice guides to facilitate structured engineering practices.
- Establish and maintain principles, practices, and standards for the engineering team.
- Work across the Data Analytics technology domain to ensure alignment of execution plans with application frameworks and engineering practices.
- Drive transformation within the Data engineering team through personal credibility and expertise.
- Foster awareness and consensus among stakeholders regarding architecture, design patterns, frameworks, and innovative methodologies.
- Engage in cross-bank technology initiatives.
- Contribute to the definition and selection of data platforms.
- Guide the strategic direction of data processes, including data intake, sources, database design, integrity, and tools.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in services, product development, infrastructure, and security in a technology leadership role.
- Profound knowledge of modern data technology stacks, software development tools, and performance monitoring practices for scalable services.
- Strong grasp of infrastructure, integration, virtualization, storage, networks, and security technologies.
- In-depth understanding of industry-standard data models necessary for analytical capabilities.
- Expertise in large databases, particularly Oracle and Teradata.
- Proficiency in Data Integration tools/platforms such as Informatica and IBM Data Stage.
- Experience with visualization tools/platforms like Qlik and Power BI.
- Expertise in Big Data Engineering tools/platforms including Cloudera, Horton Works, and Apache.
- Extensive knowledge of HDFS, HIVE, IMPALA, Kafka, SPARK, and YARN is advantageous.
- Experience in managing a mix of cloud-native and legacy technologies.
- Proven track record in large-scale technology modernizations and platform migrations.
- Recent involvement in technology transformations with effective Agile planning and development practices.
- Experience in designing, building, and operating high-volume, client-facing SaaS products.
- Understanding of the cost implications of various technology decisions and their long-term effects.
- Operational experience with infrastructure management tools and skills, such as Linux shells and Apache Ambari.
- Strong data modeling and architecting skills, with a solid foundation in data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with data management aspects, including governance, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
