Cost Estimator, Infrastructure Strategy

This role demands a proactive leader with exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of construction costs in the industry, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Cost Planning and Estimating System: Take ownership of the developing cost planning and estimating system for preconstruction stage.
  • Manage Construction Cost Data: Own the construction cost data from various sources to support future budget development and benchmarking.
  • Analyze Cost Trends: Research and analyze construction cost trends through published sources, local market conditions, and studies to forecast construction costs for medium- and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Support complex cross-functional initiatives and programs by assessing cost impacts. Collaborate with Preconstruction Managers, Construction Managers, and teams from Real Estate, Design Engineering, Due Diligence, Procurement, and external partners.
  • Lead Budget Development Efforts: Create and maintain budget development tools that incorporate recent bid data, historical costs, and design changes/updates. Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on enhancing budget accuracy.
  • Ensure Competitive Market Outcomes: Bid assessment and completion in line with Amazon global requirements and best practices to achieve competitive market outcomes.
About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global network of construction professionals, including Construction Managers, Program Managers, Regional Managers, and Regional Project Engineers in operational teams, as well as Data Engineers.

The Data Center Pre-Construction team owns and drives the process for program, cost, constructability, procurement, and delivery strategies, bid analysis through to contract award.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant experience within industry.

Experience in End-to-End Cost Planning

Experience in end-to-end cost planning and cost management from feasibility, concept, budget, tender, cost control, and final.
