Job Title:

AS400 Application Specialist

 

Job Description:

  • Responsible for reviewing and understanding project requirements, developing CL/RPG programs with DB2 in AS400.
  • Involved in setting up the AS400 system environment for new servers, applications, or countries.
  • Responsible for building interface file layouts in AS400 and setting up Connect Direct for sending and receiving files from various platforms.
  • Develops job schedules that integrate upstream and downstream systems, such as Control-M.
  • Focuses on unit testing, debugging, and performance testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Accountable for delivering all documentation, design, build, testing, and deployment according to work breakdown structures.
  • Works with production support teams to support production activities, including migrations, continuity testing, and environment migration activities.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, down to functional/technical documentation level.
  • Ensures that documentation is captured, maintained, understood by, and available to business and/or IT partners.
  • Escalates critical technical issues and potential problems as needed to the Project Manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AS400 V7R4 or higher, Control-M for AS400 V9.0.19 or higher.
  • Experience in analyzing design specifications and producing technical designs for banking systems in AS400.
  • Experience in DB2, CL, and RPG programming in AS400.
  • Experience in Connect Direct setup.
  • Experience in AS400 environment.
