Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architecture Expert to join our team in developing innovative projects. As a key member of our research staff, you will have the opportunity to develop applied research skills relevant to industry demands while working on cutting-edge projects.

The primary goal is to deliver an industry innovation research project where you will be part of a research team developing/producing/investigating a web-based Ship Simulation and Optimisation Software Platform.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and the research team to ensure all deliverables are met.
  • Undertake tasks including: Develop naval architecture calculation tools based on analytical or empirical methods; Develop a practical parametric model framework for ship design; Carry out naval architecture calculations; Conduct hydrodynamic simulations.
  • Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
  • Work independently and within a team to ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant competence in naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics.
  • A degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Ocean Engineering / Other Relevant Engineering Degree.
  • A Master's or PhD degree is advantageous.
  • Programming language experience is advantageous.
  • Marine hydrodynamics experience is advantageous.
