Singapore Institute of Technology collaborates with industry partners in research projects. As a research staff, you will have the opportunity to develop applied research skills relevant to industry demands while working on projects.

The primary goal is to deliver an industry innovation research project where you will be part of a research team developing/producing/investigating a web-based Ship Simulation and Optimisation Software Platform.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and the research team to ensure all deliverables are met.
  • Undertake tasks including: Develop naval architecture calculation tools based on analytical or empirical methods; Develop a practical parametric model framework for ship design; Carry out naval architecture calculations; Conduct hydrodynamic simulations.
  • Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
  • Work independently and within a team to ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant competence in naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics.
  • A degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Ocean Engineering / Other Relevant Engineering Degree.
  • A Master's or PhD degree is advantageous.
  • Programming language experience is advantageous.
  • Marine hydrodynamics experience is advantageous.
