At Goldman Sachs, we're looking for an experienced Market Economist to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Economist to lead coverage of the ASEAN region within our Asia Economics team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the firm's macroeconomic views on a dynamic and diverse region, contribute to global thematic research, and engage directly with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Lead macroeconomic research and forecasting for ASEAN economies and publish research on relevant macroeconomic themes/issues within ASEAN and the broader Asia region.
  • Monitor and interpret economic data, policy developments, and market trends across ASEAN and develop forecasts for key regional economies.
  • Communicating views on the regional and country economies and markets to external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Asia and global economics teams on broader thematic analysis and cross-regional research initiatives.
Key Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

  • Advanced degree in Economics or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in macroeconomic research, preferably with ASEAN market exposure.
  • Exceptional analytical and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across regions.
  • Fluency in English is a must as the working language of ASEAN and the primary medium for regional policy discussions, economic reporting, and cross-regional collaborations.
