**JOB DESCRIPTION**
This role sits within Global Economics Research.
As an Executive Director in the JP Morgan regional research Team and as a chief ASEAN economist, you will not only head up the ASEAN research effort but also work closely with regional and global research colleagues as part of our global research team. You will provide economic analysis to institutional investors, sales and traders in JP Morgan on individual ASEAN economies, and also on their its regional/global linkages and implications for policy and financial markets. This role will also require management oversight and guidance over the regional team in EM Asia ex China and India.
**Job responsibilities**:
- Performing active research on the ASEAN economies, using economic analysis and quantitative methods
- Providing economic analysis on regional economic trends, incorporating global views and insights and the joining the economic dots to form a congruent, coherent narrative.
- Contributing to team views through active discussion and presentation
- Liaising with research colleagues in other areas to better solicit views, with strong and demonstrable interest in other regions and markets
- Writing research reports in our regular and ad hoc publications to update clients on new views
- Confidently presenting research views to clients in one-on-one meetings and seminars
- Coordinating and communicating with colleagues and interact clients with high degree of communication skills
**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
- Excellent analytical skills with strong understanding of economic theory and practice developed through formal education and work experiences in economic research
- Solid background in econometrics and statistics
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to build and maintain successful relationships with colleagues across the firm and clients
**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**:
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines is highly preferred
