At SFI Energy Pte Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Ship Operations Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the assigned vessels are operationally ready at all times, maintaining compliance with rules, regulations, and requirements of flag states, classification societies, and other national authorities. This includes:

  • Maintaining familiarity with classification rules for assigned vessels
  • Ensuring vessels are in good working order, promptly resolving defects and deficiencies to prevent downtime
  • Effectively managing vessel downtime to expedite return to operational status
  • Monitoring and taking prompt actions to improve vessel performance for efficient operations management
  • Organizing planned schedules for assigned vessels and conducting regular ship visits to ensure effective management of engine department documentation, training needs, and safety culture

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate chief engineers at intervals not exceeding 6 months or as circumstances require
  2. Participate in shipboard meetings with the port captain at intervals not exceeding 12 months or as circumstances require
  3. Closely follow up on audited non-conformances and observations documented in reports
  4. Plan and attend assigned ships' periodical and occasional docking
  5. Assist in incident investigations and work closely with the port captain to complete investigation reports
  6. Provide feedback during company schedule meetings on performed tasks

Requirements:

  • NITEC or diploma
  • Recognized degree in Maritime Studies or relevant qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar position
  • Demonstrated capability in difficult negotiation
  • Proficient in MS Office

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include competitive salary, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a collaborative work environment.
