We are seeking an experienced legal leader to join our global manufacturing operations team. This role will involve ownership of all legal and compliance matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the company's interests in complex international environments.
This includes developing the legal framework for overseas business units, manufacturing plants, and subsidiaries across multiple jurisdictions. You will also be responsible for establishing internal legal management standards and policies to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance.
In addition, you will identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks related to cross-border operations. Your expertise will be valuable in promoting a strong compliance mindset through training programs and audits.
You will collaborate with various teams, including business heads, operations, HR, finance, and supply chain, to integrate legal considerations into strategic and operational decision-making.
Furthermore, you will select, coordinate, and oversee external legal advisors to ensure effective, cost-efficient, and business-aligned legal support.
Lastly, you will represent the company in major overseas negotiations, disputes, and governmental or regulatory interactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Law Degree: A law degree from a recognized institution is required. Admission to practice law is preferred.
- Progressive Legal Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive legal experience within multinational manufacturing or industrial companies is required.
- Expertise: Deep expertise in international contract law, trade and export controls, employment law, intellectual property protection, and regulatory compliance is essential.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build and lead comprehensive legal and compliance frameworks is required.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Cultural Competence: Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time is expected.
