Electrical Engineer Wanted

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced electrical engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for carrying out field service attendances to troubleshoot and repair deck cranes, grabs, windlasses, hatch cover hydraulics, and davits.

Your primary goal will be to ensure that all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and to provide technical support to our clients as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience sailing as Electrical Officer on bulkers equipped with deck cranes
  • A proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing marine cranes, windlasses, and hydraulic systems
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes and hydraulic machinery
  • The ability to read and comprehend electric and hydraulic diagrams
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical problems
  • The ability to supervise a team of mechanics and carry out large repair projects as Lead Engineer on board, on voyage, and in shipyards
  • The ability to write technical reports and communicate effectively with owners' representatives
  • Previous employment as service engineer with one of the leading deck crane manufacturers is an added advantage
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) is also an added advantage
