Global Trade Operations Specialist

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for career growth and development in the field of international trade. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Global Trade Operations Specialist.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, ensuring timely setup and receipt of Letters of Credit, handling bulk vessel shipments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full set of shipping documents by Letters of Credit and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure shipping documents, including Letters of Credit, are set up/received on time as per contracts and for negotiation.
  • Handle shipments by bulk vessels.
  • Work closely with Team head, Traders, Origination desks, and Shipping desk.
  • Supervise and coordinate operations activities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team.

Requirements:

  • A minimum GCE 'A' level/Diploma in International Trade in Import & Export would be an advantage.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in an Agri-Business/Trading Company (ideally dealing with soft commodities).
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word & Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAFTA and FOSFA will be an advantage.
  • Intensive experience in ICC rules for Letters of Credit is compulsory.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and International trade.
  • Good understanding of commodity trading.
