Our fine dining establishment is seeking a skilled F&B Assistant Sommelier to provide exceptional wine service and enhance the guest experience.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of wines, with expertise in pairing wines to food and upselling to guests. A strong communicator, the successful applicant will maintain excellent relationships with management, colleagues, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain wine cellars and cabinets in an organized and structured manner, ensuring seamless coordination with the wine list.
  2. Regularly update the wine list to reflect current products and vintages, providing continuous feedback to management on guest comments.
  3. Communicate effectively with management to identify wines for upselling, maintaining stock levels and maximizing sales opportunities.
  4. Ensure the upkeep of wine par levels, glassware, and other equipment, adhering to health and safety requirements.
  5. Execute special beverage promotions to increase wine sales, maintaining and updating sales records as necessary.
  6. Assist in managing the front-of-house and wine teams, ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Requirements:
  • WSET or CMS certification advantageous.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the wine trade, with a passion for wine service.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic items.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English and Mandarin/Cantonese, and ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
