About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic riding instructor to deliver high-quality horse riding lessons to students of all levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teach riders of various abilities, from beginners to advanced competitors.
  • Prepare students for regular competitions and assist them on event days.
  • Encourage riders to become more involved in the riding section through additional lessons, leases, and competing at events.
  • Maintain accurate records of rider progress and colour levels, reviewing them quarterly.
  • Conduct assessments and teach beginner courses to enhance rider skills.
  • Participate in clinics to develop riding and teaching expertise.
  • Progress qualifications through the BHS course program up to Stage 3 SM.
  • Report any issues regarding horse behaviour or welfare.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to discuss departmental matters.
  • Deliver regular or ad-hoc lessons outside of normal working hours with overtime compensation.
  • Assist with events, including arena setup, tasks, and stewarding.

Horse Care Management:

  • Daily checks of stables and horses between 7am & 8.30am, submitting a weekly report.
  • Order weekly feed and bedding requirements.
  • Train and support grooms in their roles.
  • Complete a monthly report on tack and equipment condition.
  • Maintain an inventory of tack in use and in-store, recommending any required items.
  • Record horse care information.
  • Allocate horses for daily lessons, schooling, and turnout against bookings.

Requirements:

  • Possess a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor (BHS AI) Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service.
