Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Equestrian Instructor to deliver horse riding lessons, teach and develop our students' skills in a supportive environment.

  • Deliver horse riding lessons to students of all levels, from beginner courses to novice riders.
  • Prepare students for monthly competitions and assist them on show days.
  • Encourage students to participate in the riding section through Pony Club, additional lessons, leases, and competing at shows.
  • Maintain rider lists and color levels, reviewing quarterly.
  • Assess new riders, teach beginner courses, and participate in clinics to develop riding and teaching skills.
  • Progress qualifications through the BHS course program up to Stage 3 SM.
  • Report any issues regarding horse behavior or welfare.
  • Attend weekly department meetings.
  • Teach regular or ad-hoc lessons outside normal hours with overtime compensation.
  • Assist with SPC competitions, including arena setup, tasks, and stewarding.
Key Responsibilities:

Stable Management

  • Daily stable checks between 7am & 8.30am, submitting a weekly report.
  • Order weekly feed and bedding requirements.
  • Train and support grooms in their jobs.
  • Complete a monthly report on tack and equipment condition.
  • Maintain an inventory of tack in use and in-store, recommending any requirements.
  • Maintain horse care records.
  • Allocate horses for daily lessons, schooling, and turnout against bookings.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Possess a British Horse Society's Assistant Instructor (BHS AI) Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Good interpersonal skills for delivering high-quality customer care.
  • Enjoy teaching at all levels, from beginners to competitive riders.
