Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Health Manager to join our team at Teambuild Construction Group.

Key Responsibilities:

Workplace Safety Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential hazards to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop and implement safe work procedures and protocols to minimize risks.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective safety provision and minimize re-work.
  • Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Project Budget Control

  • Develop and manage safety budgets to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Implement cost-saving measures to minimize safety-related expenses.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective safety provision and minimize re-work.

Technical Understanding

  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement practical safety solutions to address workplace hazards.

People Development

  • Provide training and guidance to safety personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Develop and implement a safety culture program to promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Internal Operations

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective safety provision and minimize re-work.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

Relevant degree in a field such as occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in the construction industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of workplace safety and health regulations and industry best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Language:

English is the primary language of communication in this role.
