Job Overview:

The Poultry Health Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal health and productivity of poultry farming operations. This position requires specialized expertise in veterinary medicine, biosecurity, and disease control.

Main Responsibilities:
  • 1. Veterinary & Animal Health Management
    • Regularly monitor and assess the health status of poultry flocks through daily field visits, clinical evaluations, and laboratory coordination.
    • Support diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases and metabolic disorders.
    • Implement and oversee vaccination programs, medication protocols, and nutrition-related health practices to prevent disease outbreaks.
    • Develop and lead preventive health management strategies aligned with international standards and company policies.
  • 2. Farm Biosecurity & Compliance
    • Ensure strict biosecurity measures are enforced across all farm operations to prevent disease introduction and transmission.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with internal and statutory health and safety standards.
    • Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure the farm meets veterinary, public health, and environmental requirements.
  • 3. Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze farm health performance indicators, mortality rates, growth rates, and medication outcomes to inform strategic decisions.
    • Present veterinary health reports and recommendations to farm management to support informed decision-making.
  • 4. Training & Technical Support
    • Provide technical training and mentoring to farm supervisors and staff on animal welfare, health monitoring, and emergency response.
    • Share knowledge of advanced veterinary practices and innovations to enhance local operations.
  • 5. Support Farm Operations
    • Collaborate with production and operations teams to improve flock performance and productivity.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align veterinary health with production planning and improvement projects.
    Qualifications & Requirements:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institution.
    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in poultry farming or livestock veterinary services, preferably with a focus on biosecurity, disease control, and farm production systems.
    • Strong knowledge of avian pathology, pharmacology, and epidemiology.
    • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
    • Proven experience in technical training, coaching, or expatriate assignments is highly desirable.
