Lead Software Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional software engineer to own the delivery of high-quality, reliable software/data products to our customers. This includes functional and performance testing.

A hands-on software engineer who is passionate about software quality and reliability will work with business owners, engineers, and support to identify and resolve defects.

Responsibilities

  • Build test automation across all software/data products to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Plan, develop, automate, and execute test coverage across web, API, data, and platform.
  • Create and publish quality metrics/KPI to monitor quality and reliability.
  • Work with the engineering team to create a test-driven engineering and development culture that drives measurable improvements in quality.
  • Work with engineering, support, and business owners to triage quality issues and prioritize issues for resolution.
  • Work with engineering to ensure performance testing of various software products and data pipelines.

Requirements

  • Must have:
    • Experience creating test plans, implementing test automation, performance, and stress testing.
    • College degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 6+ years of QA engineering lead experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
    • Experience building, shipping, and maintaining software, preferably in a cloud environment.
    • Experience coding in Python, Java, Shell, C/C++, or equivalent language.
  • Preferable:
    • At least 3 years of software engineering experience in cloud or distributed environment.
    • Experience designing, automating, and maintaining automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.
    • Test automation for cloud/distributed products.
    • Experience with data quality assurance.
    • Experience with mobile application testing.
