In today's fast-paced world, it is increasingly important for individuals to be able to adapt to change, problem-solve creatively, and make the most of opportunities. This requires a high level of cognitive flexibility, which is critical for success in both personal and professional life. At the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition, we aim to understand the neural basis of cognitive flexibility and develop neuroscience-based interventions to enhance it.
Our research focuses on understanding how individuals differ in their ability to adapt to new situations and how these differences impact their learning and performance. We investigate the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive flexibility and explore how these mechanisms can be targeted through interventions. By developing a deeper understanding of cognitive flexibility, we can create more effective educational programs and interventions that promote lifelong learning and adaptability.
We are seeking a talented Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cognitive neuroscience, education, or a related field, and experience in designing and implementing studies, collecting and analysing data, and preparing conference presentations and journal papers. They will also have prior experience in conducting adult cognitive testing, participant recruitment, and data management protocols. Strong statistical knowledge and skills, including familiarity with R and SPSS, are essential. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
