This individual will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked kitchen with necessary utensils and equipment, preparing meals within set timelines, delegating tasks to kitchen staff as needed, providing wait staff with daily specials information, ensuring visually appealing plate presentation, supervising cooks and offering assistance when required, modifying recipes to meet customer preferences, monitoring food stock levels and placing orders, experimenting with new recipes and suggesting innovative ingredients, and upholding all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.

Requirements
  • Proven work experience in a similar culinary role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment (e.g., grills, pasta makers)
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, including baking and pastry preparation
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and undertake multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent time management and organization abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Familiarity with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent culinary training preferred
