Junior Sous Chef Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a kitchen environment, with a strong understanding of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily tasks, including overseeing kitchen stock and ingredients, managing food and product ordering, and ensuring that all cooking stations are well-stocked.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily tasks and activities.
  • Overseeing and organizing kitchen stock and ingredients to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Managing food and product ordering, including maintaining detailed records and minimizing waste.
  • Ensuring that all cooking stations are well-stocked, especially during prime operation hours.
  • Supervising and assisting with all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards.
  • Working with the head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.
  • Verifying that food storage units meet standards and are consistently well-managed.
  • Coordinating with the restaurant management team on supply orders, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing.

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene certificate.
  • Strong knowledge in Food and Beverage, including recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on shift roster, including weekends and public holidays.
