Key Roles And Responsibilities

Our team members are responsible for:

  • Preparing generating unit activities to come on stream in accordance with real-time dispatch schedules.
  • Responding appropriately to system defects and rectifying problems as required.
  • Carrying out plant operating activities, including isolation, in line with operational guidelines.
  • Scheduling, acting, and documenting authorities for maintenance work as required.
  • Identifying and reporting defective plant and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and timely records of all key operational activities.
  • Closely monitoring operational parameters in the DCS, carrying out routine checklists, routine tests, and suggesting improvements.
  • Taking up the role of Authorized Person (AP) as per the PTW procedure.
  • Starting up and shutting down gas turbines and steam turbines as per start-up/shut-down schedules.
  • Acting in emergencies to avoid undue trips to process steam export and meet load schedules without non-conformances.
  • Investigating plant abnormalities and taking corrective actions during shifts (plant trips, unit de-ration, occurrences of fire etc.).
Qualifications & Experience

Requirements include:

  • A minimum ITE qualification with relevant engineering experience.
  • A minimum 2 years' relevant working experience, preferably in a power plant setting.
