The Production Engineering team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product delivery. You'll immerse yourself in a data-rich environment where your expertise will directly influence the enhancement of developer workflows, ensuring that every product and feature we release is reliable, efficient, and resonates with scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of one of Liftoff's core backend infrastructures, including large-scale real-time data processing pipelines and high-performance front-end servers.
  • Improve tooling and infrastructure to ship multiple times a day with quantified impact on millions of users and our business's revenue.
  • Advocate for a culture of engineering excellence through state-of-the-art tools, risk-driven testing, explainable systems, and code review.
  • Architect, bootstrap, maintain, and scale cutting-edge open-source technologies (Kubernetes, Prometheus, ArgoCD, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB) that maximize software development velocity.
  • Architect, bootstrap, maintain, and scale infrastructure reliability of large-scale, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
  • Build a FinOps foundation to deliver on key performance indicators for infrastructure cost and cost as key engineering metrics, in addition to the Four Golden Signals.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with other team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
  • An incredible desire for quality and perfection, balanced with the ability to temper it when necessary to ship.
  • Experience in designing and implementing large-scale, low-latency, high-throughput, distributed backend services.
  • Experience in profiling and debugging distributed microservices.
  • Experience in building monitoring for modern microservice architectures.
  • Experience in leading CI/CD implementation enabling self-autonomous development teams.
  • Good understanding of branching strategies.
  • Experience in SRE/DevOps roles.
  • Experience in maintaining and communicating infrastructure cost to non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Excellent team communication and collaboration skills.
