Our restaurant is seeking an experienced and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a motivated and organized individual who wants to progress in their culinary career.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef in administrative work, including procuring ingredients and invoicing. You will also be responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes for our French restaurant, which means you must have excellent knowledge of ingredients, food handling, food preparation, and cooking procedures for a specific station. You should also have acute taste for food and the ability to consistently maintain a high quality of all food items and standards of presentation for a specific station. In addition, you should be able to maintain high levels of hygiene and order in your work area, such as reach-in and walk-in fridges. You will also be expected to adhere to our company's food hygiene regulations and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Culinary skills: We are looking for someone with experience in preparing French cuisine and who can provide exceptional customer service. • Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers is essential. • Ability to multitask: As a Junior Sous Chef, you will need to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including administrative work and kitchen duties. • Physical stamina: Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment requires a high level of physical stamina.
