Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Guide Technicians and Engineers: Provide guidance to ensure that work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of machinery and equipment to ensure all systems are functioning correctly.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work and implement quality assurance processes to ensure that all work meets our quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage stock levels, track parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance, and ensure the workshop has the necessary resources.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer enquiries and issues related to machinery service and repairs, and understand customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in workshop operations and implement changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety.
  • Reporting and Communication: Keep track of tasks completed and inventory used, and provide updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Technical Expertise: Be able to swiftly and comprehensively fault-find, rectify problems on mechanical equipment, including sewage pumps and valves, air blowers, and associated pipe work.
  • Leadership and Safety: Take the lead with safe working practices to ensure superior levels of safety and housekeeping, and achieve zero lost time injuries in the workshop.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise personnel, work hands-on to execute assigned work to required standards, and ensure standard work practices and procedures are followed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Attend safety meetings, carry out safety observations, and assist in the control of consumable and tooling usage to minimize wastage.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assist in the review of daily timesheets from shop floor personnel on a daily basis, and ensure Corporate Engineering Standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Negotiation and Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Proven leadership and supervision skills to manage personnel and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Quality and Safety: Strong commitment to quality and safety, with the ability to implement and maintain high standards.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Ability to manage inventory and supply chain processes to minimize wastage and ensure efficient operations.
