Job Title: Insurance Underwriting Expert

As an experienced insurance underwriter, you will play a key role in managing underwriting activities and profit & loss responsibility for our retail and small to medium enterprise segments. This includes digital products underwriting and manual underwriting of new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, ensuring high-quality underwriting services.
  • Contribute to product development and innovation across multiple distribution channels.
  • Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes, recommending adjustments to our policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Establish and promote a positive company image with key clients.
  • Support the evaluation of risk for new business and renewals to ensure profitable growth.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal audit, and other governance and compliance requirements.


Requirements:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification preferable
  • Substantial experience gained within the insurance industry
  • Thorough understanding of class-specific underwriting and procedures
  • Experience in using risk profiling and pricing tools
  • Knowledge of loss models
