Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Library Support Officer. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing support in all areas of library information services. This includes managing and maintaining resources in the library, operating the Library Automation System, and providing relief support to schools across Singapore when their regular librarian is not available.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient processing and circulation of resources to students and other library patrons. You will also be responsible for shelving library materials, cataloguing and processing new materials, creating promotional materials and displays, conducting library programs and activities, generating reports on loans and collection-related statistics, and assisting library patrons with queries.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will work closely with stakeholders to manage damaged and/or lost books, including withdrawing, repairing or reconditioning library materials. You will also be involved in stocktaking and weeding of library materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 GCE 'O' level passes, including English
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to operate the Spydus Library System (training provided)
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
