Senior Plant Development Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Plant Development Director to lead the establishment and operation of our production facility in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have deep experience building and managing manufacturing plants, from facility layout and equipment installation to team building, compliance, and production performance.

Job Description:
  • Lead all aspects of facility setup, including infrastructure planning, contractor management, utilities, EHS compliance, and production readiness.
  • Oversee equipment installation and commissioning, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and budget adherence.
  • Hire, train, and lead the production operations team, including technicians, supervisors, QA/QC staff, and maintenance personnel.
  • Build and implement manufacturing systems—SOPs, workflows, training, safety protocols, batch documentation, and maintenance routines.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage day-to-day operations once live: production scheduling, output targets, quality metrics, downtime reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • C Coordinate closely with R&D, process engineers, and senior leadership to align plant operations with evolving product and business needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, including end-to-end plant setup and production operations.
  • Strong track record managing factory buildouts, scale-up, and team development in chemicals, advanced materials, membranes, or precision manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of industrial operations, including utilities, EH&S, facility compliance, workforce management, and quality systems.
  • Skilled in managing multi-disciplinary teams, third-party contractors, and vendor relationships.
  • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead plant operations independently and solve problems in fast-changing environments.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with membranes, films, or specialty chemical production.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom standards and controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Prior work in a startup or new-plant environment, where systems and teams were built from scratch.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, quality systems (ISO/QMS), or industrial automation tools.
