Crewing Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crewing Manager to join our team at Novo Recruitment Solutions Pte Ltd. As a key member of our crewing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels by managing the crewing process from recruitment to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crew Contract Management: Draft, sign, and ensure compliance with crew contracts, as well as verify the validity of MLC-compliant Sea Certificates for all crew members.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Process and verify crew salary and dues payments, and examine payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with STCW/MLC regulations.
  • Crew Welfare and Safety: Guarantee adherence to STCW/MLC standards regarding crew pay, welfare, medical attendance, crew changes, P&I, and insurance, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all crew members.
  • Disciplinary Actions and Investigations: Conduct on-board alcohol tests, maintain documentation, and collaborate with other departments to investigate incidents involving crew members, NC, or NM, and ensure compliance with ISM procedures.
  • Crew Training and Development: Collaborate with Marine/Tech to determine training needs for new ship types, systems, MECs, dual fuels, and regulations, and arrange for training delivery.
  • Crew Manning and Pool Management: Assemble and manage a pool of competent crew resources, including manning agencies, and ensure compliance with ISM systems' selection and engagement processes and criteria.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-effective crewing strategies, optimize personnel mix, and minimize personnel overlap to achieve crew cost KPIs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience: In crew management and recruitment, with a strong background in human resource management and ship safety management.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Maritime Regulations: Familiarity with national and international laws, agreements, rules, and policies applicable to the flag state.
