The position of Research Assistant is open at the Office of Teacher Education & Undergraduate Programmes.


Project Overview:
The team seeks to develop environmentally benign metal salts for carbon-heteroatom bonds formation reactions.

Responsibilities:
Design and execute organic synthesis routes, isolate/purify target molecules using various techniques, analyze synthesized compounds via NMR, IR, and elemental analysis. Develop new synthetic methods or optimize existing ones, identify and resolve issues in the synthesis process, prepare manuscripts for publication, procure necessary chemicals/equipment, manage laboratory resources efficiently, enforce safety regulations/protocols, and perform other research tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline, minimum one year of experience in a chemistry laboratory setting, preferred experience in synthesis and characterization of organic compounds, familiarity with broad range of organic synthesis techniques, practical experience in purification methods, ability to interpret results obtained by spectroscopic techniques, proficiency in performing literature searches, proficient in both written and spoken English, good communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment, meticulous, systematic, responsible, and accountable for tasks, and experience in metal-mediated cross-coupling and/or C-H activation reactions is a plus.
