Job Description:

The role of an Effective Communication Specialist involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapy to patients with language, speech, and swallowing disorders. Effective communication is a vital aspect of this profession.

  • Assessing patient communication and swallowing disorders requires a comprehensive approach including clinical observations and diagnostic assessments.
  • Designing effective treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals enables the delivery of tailored care to meet individual patient needs.
  • Providing evidence-based therapy using innovative techniques ensures that patients receive the most effective interventions possible.
  • Documenting patient case history and intervention progress maintains accurate records for future reference.
  • Implementing changes to therapy programs as required ensures adaptability and continuous improvement in patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in speech-language pathology and be fully registered under Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) with a valid practising certificate recognised by MOH Singapore.

Relevant clinical experience working with adult patients with acquired communication disorders and dysphagia is essential. A good understanding of communication-related disorders and treatments is also necessary.
