Operations Technician Role Overview

This Operations Technician role involves working in a chemical process plant, responsible for monitoring and controlling plant processes via the Distributed Control System (DCS). The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot plant processes during operational disruptions, execute daily tasks according to the monthly activity checklist, load and unload raw materials and products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), conduct routine inspections and ongoing maintenance activities on machinery, perform analysis checks on cooling water and chilled water, communicate effectively with pipeline customers, coordinate with raw material and product tanker drivers, and collaborate with maintenance personnel.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control plant processes via DCS
  • Troubleshoot plant processes during operational disruptions
  • Execute daily tasks according to the monthly activity checklist
  • Load and unload raw materials and products in accordance with SOP
  • Conduct routine inspections and ongoing maintenance activities on machinery

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering field, related working experience in chemical process plants, basic equipment and distributed control system knowledge in the oil and gas industry, ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, safety-mindedness, team player attitude, and good working experience.
