About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Innovation and Technology Transfer. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to lead our intellectual property management efforts and drive innovation and technology transfer initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intellectual Property Management: Develop and implement strategies to maximize the adoption of research output, including drafting and negotiation of research and licensing agreements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team to review, update, and formulate intellectual property policies, develop and review IP licensing strategies, and structure and negotiate contracts.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market landscape analysis to identify and engage research collaborators and potential licensees, and generate statistical reports with analysis on the impact of research output.
  • IP Awareness and Education: Create IP awareness and education programs, and provide IP advisory services to academic staff and colleagues.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Work on strategic cross-divisional initiatives and University-wide planning, and identify opportunities for process improvement and problem-solving.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in intellectual property management, with recognized IP-related qualifications or legal qualifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with industry, academic staff, and students.
