About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interest Rates Strategist to join our team in Global Economics & Markets Research.

The successful candidate will be responsible for modelling, forecasting, research and analysis of interest rates.

Key responsibilities include taking central bank monetary policy outlook from Macro Economists, crafting forecasting models and producing regular point forecasts for key interest rate benchmarks.

This includes US interest rate benchmarks like SOFR and 10 Year US Treasuries yield, SG interest rate benchmarks like SORA and 10Y SGS yield, and CH interest rate benchmarks like MLF and LPR etc.

The role also involves writing literature and reports on interest rate and yield outlook, contributing to ad hoc interest rate analysis and discussion during market moving events.

Strong quantitative modelling background, with strong excel and Bloomberg skills is a must.

Additionally, making presentations and engaging stakeholders on various interest rate topics and queries is required.

Regular media engagements on TV and Print is also expected, particularly for local media like CNA and Straits Times, as well as financial media like Bloomberg and Reuters.

Understanding of regional Fixed Income markets and ability to do bottoms up single securities Credit Research is a plus.

Candidates should have at least 3 to 5 years of working experience as an interest rate strategist or similar job.

A major in economics or quantitative finance is preferred.

Relevant CMFAS certifications and university degree in Economics & Finance are also required.
