Job Title: DCS Engineer Transformation Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled DCS Engineer Transformation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of virtual machines in the new environment, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting issues.

This role requires excellent technical skills, including experience with virtualization platforms, guest OS, network knowledge, and incident/problem management. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also essential for success in this position.


Responsibilities:
  1. Validation & Monitoring: Monitor VM health & performance, ensuring all VMs run smoothly in the new environment. This includes monitoring CPU, memory, disk usage, and network performance.
  2. Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Investigate and resolve performance or compatibility issues post-migration. Provide support for critical incidents or disruptions, ensuring a rapid response and resolution.
  3. System Optimization and Tuning: Optimize VMs in the new environment by adjusting configurations for optimal performance. Support application requests for resource modification and allocation, reviewing and reallocating system resources as needed.
  4. Security and Compliance Management: Review security configurations post-migration, including firewalls, access control, and encryption. Highlight any violations to the client's team. Ensure VMs meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.

Requirements:
  1. Degree/Certification: Diploma/degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering related fields.
  2. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience supporting virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Familiarity with virtualization technology like vMotion, DRS, HA, and VM snapshots.
  3. Guest OS Knowledge: Familiarity with Guest OS Redhat and Windows servers. Understand network knowledge in virtualized environments.
  4. Experience: Experience in supporting VM migration and firmware patching. Ability to work with stakeholders for collaboration and support.
  5. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based services and platforms.
