Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate professional to provide therapeutic support to children, youth, and families in residential care and community programs. This role emphasizes emotional support, skill-building, and crisis intervention in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide counseling and psychoeducation to clients dealing with trauma, family conflict, and behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups (e.g., coping skills, social-emotional learning).
  • Work closely with social workers and psychologists to implement care plans.
  • Document sessions and contribute to case reviews.
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field (must be eligible for accreditation with SAC or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of experience in counseling, preferably with cases involved in child protection, trauma, or out-of-home care and working with children, youth, or families.
  • Training in modalities like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or other trauma modalities), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy.
  • Ability to engage clients with complex needs.
