Job Title:

Scientific Researcher - Plant Genetics and Breeding

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work on a project under Associate Professor Chew Fook Tim.

Key responsibilities include germplasm evaluation, key phenotypic definition and evaluation, characterization of genetic control, cultivar and lines development, integration of genomic data into cultivation processes, multi-location trial evaluations and further value chain assessment and development.

Qualifications:

PhD in Biological Sciences or Molecular Biology/Biochemicals is required.

The ideal candidate should have skills in R programming, statistical analysis and experience in conventional plant breeding.

They should also possess excellent scientific written and interpersonal communication skills, good time and resource management skills, strong motivation and leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior researchers.
