Key Responsibilities
  • Manage claim notifications, arrange surveys, and engage settling agents where required.
  • Open claim files and verify policy, reinsurance, and treaty arrangements.
  • Issue acknowledgment letters and request supporting documents from clients/intermediaries.
  • Draft Loss and Liability Advice (LLA) and Material Loss Report (MLR) for approval and ensure timely reserve updates.
  • Maintain claim diaries and manage follow-up timelines before file closure.
  • Verify premium payment status and coordinate with the finance department on outstanding issues.
  • Refer cases with recovery potential to Recovery Agents and track progress.
  • Handle special claims (e.g., ex-gratia, large losses) and update records accordingly.
  • Escalate large or complex claims to management as needed.
  • Compile regular reports and statistics on claims.
Requirements
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general insurance principles and practices.
  • Experience in claims handling and adjusting is preferred.
