**Job Title:** Construction Cost Estimator

Job Overview

This role involves evaluating tenders by preparing submissions and Bills of Quantities to ensure project budgets are met. The successful candidate will work with a comprehensive database of costs, materials, and suppliers to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate tenders and prepare Bills of Quantities for projects
  • Manage cost databases and maintain accurate records of direct costs
  • Assist in assessing contractual claims and work progress
  • Invite sub-contractors to submit quotations and evaluate them to determine the best award for each trade
  • Prepare project budgets, reports, and cost estimations
Required Skills:
  • Negotiation skills to resolve disputes and reach mutually beneficial agreements
  • Budgeting expertise to manage resources effectively
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of construction methods, quantity surveying principles, administration practices, estimate preparation, procurement procedures, AutoCAD software, civil engineering concepts, tendering processes, pricing strategies, sourcing techniques, tender preparation, and cost control measures
