Energy Management Specialist Role Overview

As an Energy Management Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing energy-efficient solutions to reduce our organization's carbon footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benchmark energy consumption across various sites and facilities to pinpoint areas of improvement.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, surveys, and audits to assess current energy usage practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate records of energy monitoring data.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive energy policies, systems, and annual improvement plans.
  • Negotiate energy supply contracts with external stakeholders and manage relationships effectively.
  • Lead projects related to energy efficiency and workplace safety in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Promote sustainable practices within the organization, including renewable energy initiatives.
  • Stay informed about emerging energy and environmental regulations.
  • Provide guidance on energy conservation best practices and oversee carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Prepare detailed reports on energy management and audit results for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as engineering.
  • Strong understanding of energy regulations and conservation principles.
  • Experience with energy monitoring systems and data analysis software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO 50001 or similar energy management standards is desirable.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
