Description:
MOM is seeking a seasoned communications professional to lead the development and execution of proactive and defensive strategies for public communications efforts. As a key member of our team, you will help drive awareness and understanding of MOM's policies and programmes, while also identifying and correcting online misinformation.
Responsibilities:
Develop media communications plans and key messages to support MOM political office holders, senior management and divisions. Oversee communications for MOM divisions, Statutory Boards and affiliated bodies to ensure alignment with MOM's communications priorities. Manage media pitches and negotiations, cultivate media relationships, draft media releases and responses to media queries. Staff POHs for media events, manage on-site media, formulate media materials for announcements, perform red-teaming for potential derailers, craft talking points, and analyze media coverage.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years' experience in the public sector and/or public communications work. Well-versed in media communications, media relations, marketing, and digital communications. Good interpersonal skills; ability to identify focus areas, interpret data, influence, negotiate, and implement public communications strategies/tactics. Mature with a keen interest in current affairs. Strong written and spoken communication skills. Good project management skills; able to multitask and deliver results under pressure and in fast-changing conditions. Energetic team player; resourceful and able to respond quickly and effectively to dynamic and sensitive situations.
