Design for Safety Professional Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design for Safety Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our projects by coordinating stakeholders, identifying and mitigating risks, and implementing effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with stakeholders (LTA, designers, contractors, subcontractors) to ensure clear communication on safety and health risks.
  2. Convene Design for Safety Review Meetings/Workshops to identify, eliminate, or reduce design and construction risks.
  3. Ensure all relevant parties attend meetings and prepare official minutes for audit purposes.
  4. Prepare and update the Design for Safety Register with meeting records and residual risks, ensuring accessibility to all stakeholders.
  5. Review subcontractors' method statements and risk mitigation plans before approval by the Project Director.
  6. Conduct monthly review meetings with designers/contractors on the Design for Safety Register.
  7. Carry out at least three weekly site inspections each month to check implementation of mitigation measures.
  8. Monitor ERSS performance via instrumentation data from LTA's appointed contractor.
  9. Submit site inspection reports to the Project Director and prepare minutes for all meetings.
  10. Presentation of Design for Safety Register updates (including CDSS and CNSS) at LTA's Monthly Risk Register Meetings and Quarterly Director Meetings.
  11. Preparation of meeting minutes for record purposes.
  12. Seek LTA's approval to close identified hazards and submit Hazard Closure Forms upon completion of works.
